48 Harmony Public Schools students named Questbridge Scholarship finalists

Forty-eight Harmony Public School seniors statewide have been selected as 2023 Questbridge National Scholarship program finalists.

Students from Harmony High School campuses in Houston, Central Texas, North Texas and West Texas are among 3,500 outstanding students selected for full college scholarships out of more than 13,000 applications submitted.

Out of the finalists, an estimated 30% will be awarded full-ride scholarships to the nation’s elite colleges. The remaining students will have the opportunity to receive a substantial financial aid package through the Regular Decision program.

QuestBridge is a national nonprofit that connects the nation’s most exceptional, low-income youth with leading colleges and opportunities. QuestBridge aims to increase the percentage of talented low-income students attending the nation’s best colleges and to support them to achieve success in their careers and communities. Some participating academic institutions include Brown University, Rice University, Stanford University and Yale University.

Each finalist must show substantial academic achievement (with an average grade point average of 3.90 or higher), high test scores on the SAT or ACT, financial circumstances, strong character, and exemplary accomplishments and leadership roles in extracurricular and community activities while ranking in the top 10 percent of their graduating class.

On Match Day, Dec. 1, QuestBridge finalists will receive notification if they are selected as National College Match Scholarship recipients for early admission. These students will receive a comprehensive scholarship to one of the nation's top colleges, which will cover the total cost of attendance, including tuition, books, room and board, and additional expenses for four years.
